World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.

Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.
In the endgame, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Using the Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player improves an item, the base item will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons, and trinkets) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance.
